Warm Welcome

On February 6, Fordham Law students, accompanied by Dean Matthew Diller and Assistant Dean Tom Schoenherr, gathered at JFK airport’s Terminal 1 to support their fellow student Fahimeh (Farimah) Kashkooli and welcome Kashkooli’s daughter, Alma.

Alma suffers from a rare congenital disorder, which required her to travel from her native Iran to the United States for proper medical care. That travel had been delayed by the president’s recent executive order on immigration.

Fordham Law alumnus Gordon Caplan ’91 of Willkie Farr & Gallagher and members of his firm provided pro bono assistance to the Kashkooli family.

Read more about Alma’s journey in the New York Post and Reuters.
